The Twin Falls Circuit is a short, popular loop in Springbrook National Park. In a few kilometres you get rainforest, creek crossings, and a section that passes behind Twin Falls. It suits most active walkers, but sheer cliffs and wet rock still need careful footing.
Quick route overview
- Distance: about 4 km circuit (Grade 3)
- Time: 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on stops
- Difficulty: moderate (stairs and some uneven surfaces)
- Track type: formed rainforest track with steps, rock, and short boardwalk sections
- Access: Tallanbana or Canyon Lookout
What to expect
The walk drops from the plateau into rainforest, circles behind Twin Falls, then returns through valley forest and creek lines. There are plenty of photo stops, so most groups take longer than the base walking time.
After rain the track can be very slick - wet rock, puddles, and muddy corners in the shade. Walk anti-clockwise if you want to follow the interpretive signs in the intended direction.
You pass behind the Twin Falls curtain, through dense subtropical rainforest and ferns, with valley views and creek crossings along the way. For a short-to-mid length day walk, the variety is high.
Optional extensions
Nearby linked tracks can extend the day toward Blackfellow Falls and adjacent routes, including connections toward the longer Warrie Circuit. If you add extra sections, allow more time and check current park advice first.
Safety and planning
Check closures and alerts before you set out:
Practical notes:
- Wear shoes with reliable grip for wet stairs and rock
- Keep children close near edges and creek sections
- Carry water even on short loops
- Take the downhill sections slowly
- Stay behind barriers at lookouts
